Why do people say the pullout method is ineffective? I’ve been using it for many years.

There are plenty of folks who swear by the pull-out method, and they likely have the technique mastered. However, statistics show that the pull-out method is only about 78% effective….meaning that it fails 22% of the time. The reasons are:

  1. We’re human, and sometimes people get caught up in the moment. Simply, they don’t pull out in time.

  2. There’s a small chance that pre-ejaculate contains sperm, especially if the person has ejaculated recently.

Most forms of birth control and pregnancy prevention methods fail because of human error, and that’s why some statistics are less than perfect. If you prefer the pull-out method and it works for you and your partner, good work!
