I have the Nexplanon and my partner and I are “STD-free.” How protected are we from pregnancy without a condom?

Very. Implants are incredibly effective – like 99.95% effective. However, make sure you have it changed at the recommended interval (anywhere from 3-5 years). Remember, STI checks do not generally include HPV or herpes, so even if you’ve “tested negative” for a standard STI check it’s still possible that you can transmit one of these silent infections.
